You do not need to own a Carbine for this course, you can rent a Geissele 14.5” Super Duty (5.56mm, equipped with an Aimpoint Micro T-2 red dot, forward grip, and sling) from KCT for use during the course.   • 4-5hrs of instruction

In this course, you will learn the Tactics and Techniques that Special Operations teams use to shoot targets from a helicopter. We will go over various topics that will prepare you for helicopter work, then we will immediately get on the range and do a fundamentals review/warmup before we start learning how to implement different types of leads in some shooting drills. Then we will get in the helicopter and work on manipulating the carbine in the cabin space before we take to the skies and start smashing some steel targets from our Airborne Platform. Experiences from real-world Combat Airborne Assaults will be used to shape this course and will give you the Operator experience.

Course Content

- Red dot vs Scope

- Lead vs Reverse lead

- Gauging speed and Distance

- Helicopter safety

- Fundamentals warmup

- Manipulating your carbine in and outside of the helicopter

- Leading drills

- Malfunctions and mag changes in the helicopter

- Single target engagement

- Multiple target engagement

Student requirements

- Carbine Ammo, 400 rounds (NO GREEN TIP or STEEL CORE AMMO)

- Pay range fees if the class is hosted by a local gun range

- Carbine of choice

- Carbine Sling

- 6 functional rifle mags minimum

- Gun belt with rifle mag pouches

- Chest rig to hold rifle mags

- Riggers belt

- Eye and ear protection

- Appropriate clothing and foot attire (Pants, closed-toe shoes)

- Water and food for the training event

- Carbine maintenance kit, to include lube

Optional items to bring

- Kneepads

- Gloves

- Raingear/cold-weather gear as needed

- Cooler

- Sunblock

Instructors will remove anyone from the class for any reason they deem to be an endangerment to themselves or to others. No refund if removed from the course for a safety violation.
